Benin was left without a football team

Benin Football Federation sacked the entire coaching staff and all players in the national team after its unsuccessful performance in the African Cup of Nations held in Angola in January.

According to the Representative of the Federation, the decision was made football authorities “due to the lack of discipline and the spirit of patriotism” in the team of Benin, as well as a bad game in the tournament.

Benin squad took second place in group D, yielding the first line of the future of the finalists – Ghana’s national team players.

At the last African Cup of Nations Cup 2010 victory in the third consecutive won the Egyptian national team. In the final match, which took place on January 31, the Egyptians took precedence over the national team of Ghana, with a score of 1:0.

African Cup of Nations (the African equivalent of the Championship of Europe) held under the auspices of the African Football Federation and is held every two years. The first tournament was held in 1957.
