Sergey Bubka: a worthy replacement leading Olympians no
President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Sergey Bubka believes that working to create a sports system in the ruins of the Soviet impossible.

“When we came back from Beijing, we were greeted at the highest state levels, but for the last 2 years the situation has worsened with sports. We have lost what they had: sports centers built during the Soviet era, have declined, and new ones are not built. Being shut down for children and youth sports schools, no sports reserve, a decent change leading Olympians, which will eventually leave the sport.

The situation with the development of sport and the health of the Ukrainian nation is catastrophic. Today, we survive, but not build the future. We must radically change the attitude to sport, needs a clear public policy of development of mass sports, would not otherwise be able to raise a healthy harmonious development of man.

We have the same physical education in school choice: I want to & mdash do not want. Already at this stage almost “killed” the possibility of education not only athletes, but also a fully healthy person, “- said Bubka in the interview to NOC.
